For many contemporary painters

and my work reflects my reactions to social issues such as war and consumerism by contrasting images from American advertisements and popular culture with images of rituals from around the world

Over the years, we have worked together on numerous shows and projects over her career. This particular series, which began in 2012, shortly after her first solo exhibition at the gallery, has grown in scope and ambition in the ensuing years. During the long time these paintings were being
