Dress #087: Robe à la française in pink and cream filigree Elephant Materials: Korean paperThis frothy pink robe la franaise, with the overskirt pulled up a la Polonaise, is constructed with a filigree patterned chiyogami, to echo the original French silk, patterned in pink stripes and flowers. It is based on a Spanish gown from ca. 1775, held by LACMA (accession M. 2007. 211. 720a b). The dress is six inches tall, stitched by hand on 8x10 inch paper, which means that it will pop right into any commercial frame in that size, and be ready to
